Using this on-line course

This online course consists of body text that has clickable audio Thai words and phrases and a free-playing slide show that covers the content of each lesson. A series of lessons are presented within each of the major chapters. Each lesson is highly focused and are in the main fairly short to allow you to focus clearly on the language aspect the lesson is teaching and to facilitate easy and rapid learning of the lesson content.

All the words and phrases have playable audio. You can choose to play all the words / phrases contained in the lesson as a slideshow, or simply click on each word and phrase as you read them in the text. We would advise you read the text first and click on each of the words / phrases shown as you read them. This way, you will learn from onset the necessary knowledge and insight into the language framework and usage necessary to fully understand Thai.

Once you have asimulated this information you can choose to play the slideshow that will automatically play all the words / phrases in the lesson, allowing you to focus on getting your pronunciation correct. For added flexibility and fuller control of pacing you can click each slide individually to play the audio. The pop-up window can can be pulled at the corner to increase the slide screen size.

Using this on-line course 3

Each chapter has a set of interactive check and develop your learning exercises in the form of audio flash cards and word matching games. These games are listed at the bottom of the lesson they apply to. In addition all new words introduced to you in each chapter are included in audio flash card games at the end of the chapter. The flipped flash card automatically reveals the Thai word and plays the Thai audio to confirm the correct pronunciation and tone. The order in which the words are presented are random and change each time you play the game.

Using this on-line course 4

Below is an example of a matching card game whereby you match a Thai word block to an English word. A green tick will indicate whether you are correct. A red cross indicates your match-up is incorrect.
